...and still another new Lincoln title addition

Kevin Levin over at Civil War Memory (another excellent Civil War blog; Kevin and Eric Wittenberg run two of the best Civil War blogs out there, in my opinion) reminds me that William Lee Miller has a new book coming out in February called President Lincoln: The Duty of a Statesman. Miller wrote a good book on Lincoln's ethics and moral principles which focused for the most part on Lincoln's pre-presidential career. This new study seems to do much the same thing for Lincoln's presidential years.
I've always thought of Miller as sort of like the polar opposite of Lerone Bennett. That is, Miller tends to be uniformly positive about Lincoln's life and career. Perhaps a bit too much so, at times. But on the whole he does fine work, and this should be a good book.
