New Lincoln photos




Story here about the discovery of new photos related to the Lincoln presidency. Apparently these images were mis-labeled, and laid around for years in the Library of Congress' voluminous image files without anyone knowing what they actually were. Turns out they were images of the crowd gathering during Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address (not Grant's inaugural in 1869, as was originally thought).

Coincidentally, two days ago I posted on a different subject using one of these photos as example.

It's spooky to have it pop up in the news this same week!
